…as a renowed tourists destination, Cinque Terre attract every year 2.5 million sea-lover travelers in search of beauty, good food and culture.

Where time stops

Cinque Terre is the name by which the five towns in the Liguria Riviera are known:

Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore.

As a renowed tourists destination, Cinque Terre attract every year 2.5 million sea-lover travelers in search of beauty, good food and culture.

Each one of the five towns tells history through sculptures, paintings, frescoes, monuments, towers.

Each of the five towns has a story to tell and a treasure to show.

MONTEROSSO is guarded by its Giant, a 14 meters concrete statue representing Neptune, the Sea God.

Built as mandated by the Pastine family in 1910, although today very damaged, the statue still preserves all its original charme.

CORNIGLIA is, among the 5 towns, the oldest. It houses the S.Peter Church, with its core dating back to the 11th century. Don’t let the church’s sober style fool you: once inside you can see the wonderful frescoes of the local painter Prospero Luxardi, which contribute to making it a sacred treasure of art and beauty!

The town is also well known for its wine production

MANAROLA is the place where you’ll feel like walking on a colour palette! Its tower houses along streets and squares will take you to an enchanted world of extravaganza where getting lost is a privilege.

VERNAZZA is still protected by the walls built during the middle ages. Writings dating back to 1080 already described it as an active and prosperous fortress.

Today there’s little left of the ancient glory: besides the wall Vernazza still keeps the sighting tower dating back to the 11th century, the remainings of the Doria Castle and the Belforte.

RIOMAGGIORE houses the Cerricò Castle, built as a fortress in 1260. Its clock tower is the most recognizable symbol of the town, and it is still well preserved after many restructuring operations have been carried through guring the past century.

Cinque Terre is the place to visit on your travel to Italy: come, take a walk and get lost in the Middle Ages!
